CSI: The Study is another well-designed 45-minute escape room. This one centers around solving a mystery in a room full of books and other items that you'd expect in a study. Like The Cabin, this room has a lot of nice details. Puzzles range from average to very unique with one sequence involving technology in a way I've never seen before. The room is small but all items around the room are utilized well without too many red herrings. CSI: The Study falters in the same way that The Cabin does. There are too many puzzles for 45 minutes. Some require large leaps in logic and it was very difficult to determine which items were to be used together for what purpose. The aforementioned technological puzzle was very cool, but I would never have thought to do a certain task without more clues or direction. I'd also caution the designers on being too tricky to the point where the puzzle is negatively affected. After being told where a solution was, it still took several group members a long time to actually find the answer. CSI: The Study is another escape game that has a lot of potential. I look forward to seeing the effect some changes will make in the future!

UPDATE

I recently had the opportunity to go back to play CSI: The Study at Jigsaw Escape Rooms and boy, have they made some great updates! Our biggest issue with our first play through, was how abstract many of the puzzles were. This issue has been completely resolved! Nearly all of the puzzles have been redesigned or modified to create a fun, streamlined escape experience. Now all players will be able to enjoy one of the coolest technologies that I have ever seen without pulling their hair out in frustration! I applaud Jigsaw for making such thorough improvements to this room.
