Space is an enjoyable room which had a fantastic first impact (if you’ll excuse the pun). There are a couple of small detractions that bring down which could have been an even more fantastic experience. The escape is a small-ish single room with a sub-enclosure that becomes available later on. The room has very dim lighting with an excellent use of light effects to give a dazzling sensation of stars. The props are decent as well - albeit not ‘Hollywood-level’ quality. For being ‘crashed on an alien world’, Space had a cramped feel. Perhaps with more room the designer could have used the ‘crashed’ motif to put puzzles on the crashed ship. Instead, there were typical (although well executed) uses of puzzle design across the room. There was a good mixture of standard puzzle types and innovative ones. Unfortunately, an initial puzzle required a leap of logic (and a call for a hint) that didn’t feel natural - there were no clues leading to why the answer would be what it was. I also think there was a missed opportunity for a larger climactic puzzle at the end to help the players ‘get off of the world’.
Overall, Space has some flaws but it's a nice, family-friendly escape room that's good for beginners to start with.
