In this 60-minute escape, you and your team are an elite group of assassins with the goal of eliminating three targets in a hotel room. As with The Liberty Squad, this room is decorated very well. Although just a hotel room, BreakOut and their set designer have done a great job of making this room feel like the real thing full of props and decorations. The puzzles in this room are less logic/problem solving based than others, but this is not a bad thing. They involve developing and utilizing a variety of skills over the 60 minute time limit. Two custom puzzles in this room are particularly entertaining. Unfortunately, I don't want to say much more so as to not reveal any spoilers! I highly commend this room for its unique and surprising use of items and puzzles! Overall, I recommend Hangover as a refreshing modification to the room escape formula by tasking its players with developing new skills not yet seen anywhere else!

Update - March 13, 2015

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. When we initially reviewed Hangover, we loved the unique aspects of the room. They still have two of the most visually impressive set pieces that we have ever seen. However, Breakout has made some changes since we were last there, possibly to address an issue with guests completing the original room too quickly. The biggest of which, is a new major puzzle sequence right in the middle of the room. Unfortunately, this addition seems out of place and out of character from the rest of the room. It feels as though this change was created by a completely different set designer. With an original overall score of 4.3, Hangover was a top 5 room in the GTA. Unfortunately, the new material has altered the flow of the room and has added convoluted puzzles with red herrings that definitely detract from the elegance of the original design. With this in mind, we have decided to update our review scores to reflect the new changes.
