The Missing Finger might be Adventure Room Niagara's first escape, but it definitely makes a great first impression! It's a large 60-minute, multi-room adventure that's fun for the whole family. Nice details and decorations are found throughout the rooms, albeit not quite movie-level quality. The game starts off in a fun manner, placing an emphasis on cooperation and communication right from the beginning. Puzzles were plentiful and quite unique. There were a couple fantastic puzzles that proved to be very surprising in the way they had to be solved. A couple of red herrings were found here and there, but not enough to take away from the overall experience. Everything was logical and required no prior knowledge. We had minor issues with one of the puzzles possibly being a little bit abstract, but it didn't end up being a hindrance during our escape.

For everything that we loved while escaping from The Missing Finger, its one main drawback was the lack of theme integration and background story. We gathered that the goal of this escape must be to find someone's missing finger, but it would have been nice to hear a back-story from the staff prior to entering the room. Some theme integration across the rooms would go a long way to create a complete, immersive environment, which would make the experience all the more fun! I also discussed the possibility of using blindfolds or at least telling players to close their eyes while entering the rooms, which would make the start of the escape all the more surprising!

Gripes aside, The Missing Finger is still an excellent escape that's definitely up there with the best escapes that we've played. We highly recommend everyone in the Niagara region go and play this room escape game! I look forward to playing more of Adventure Rooms' escapes in the future!
