Xscaper Arts Markham knows that the big selling point of Entrapment is lasers, and they have made sure to show it off in all of their promotional photos. I have been to other 60-minute escape rooms with single laser beams to avoid, but this room is just over the top. Each time someone hits a laser, your remaining mission time decreases. If you stay in the laser for more than just a brief second, the time will be reduced by a larger amount. Xscaper Arts Markham tells you upfront that this room is 80% physical. Larger guests are definitely at a disadvantage to manoeuvre through the laser grid. It is specifically set up in a way so that you can’t simply crawl all the way through. Although Entrapment is only a single room 60-minute mission, my group still had a really good time. We found that the threat of lasers looming over us the entire time caused us to be less thorough and to miss things that we normally would have caught. We initially left annoyed that we missed an obvious clue, but during the debrief we realized that the overdose of sensory information was part of the room's charm. The room was sparsely decorated, but it didn’t seem to bother my team members. There was some interesting unique technology in the room, and I was impressed that they only had to use one lockbox. As a warning, from a pure numbers perspective, this room is a little light on puzzles. If there were no lasers, this would be a pretty quick room. I recommend giving Entrapment a try if you're interested in checking out a room with some cool tech and the unique experience of weaving your way through a crazy laser grid.
