Escape Reviewer

Located in the basement of an old converted church, Xscaper Arts Markham can be found in the quaint heart of downtown Unionville. The foyer has a classic escape room feel: Some couches to hang out on, polaroids of successful escapees and some random Egyptian-themed props for decoration. During our visit, the receptionist was very friendly and gave us complimentary bottled water after we completed the mission. While we were chatting in the lounge, one of the managers enthusiastically approached us to give us a preview of another room. We gave no indication to the employees that we review escape rooms, so we were impressed with their focus on customer experience. Unfortunately, their hint system is communicated over walkie talkies and is not the greatest. With only three rooms, it would be much faster for the employee to just come into the room to see where you are. Attempting to explain how far you have progressed, what puzzle you are working on, and listening back to a slightly distorted answer is unnecessarily tedious.
