The Lab is Xscaper Arts Markham's 45-minute entry level mission. For a single room mission, I was thoroughly impressed with the high level of technology and the unique surprises encountered throughout the room. Most 45-minute rooms contain numerous store bought containers and locks, but The Lab doesn't use a single traditional lockbox. Being a lab, the decor was minimal but adequate. The majority of the puzzles were straightforward, logical and quite appropriate for a beginner room. There was only one very small math puzzle that didn’t seem to make sense, as it didn't follow basic arithmetic properties. Nonetheless, there is a surprise element in this room that had my friends laughing all the way home. The Lab is scheduled to close in late March to make space for a new room. During these last few weeks, Xscaper Arts Markham is offering the room for only $15 per person. Although my group finished the room in just 24 minutes, we all felt that it was well worth the $15. As a warning, Xscaper Arts Markham lists this room as a 99% fear rating on their scale. If you like scary rooms, go give it a shot before it closes!
