Inception is Xscaper Arts Markham’s newest and most elaborate room. Loosely based on the 2010 Christopher Nolan film, the escape begins with your team being split into two different "dreams" in search of totems and a way out. Like Xscaper Arts Markham's other rooms, Inception uses a lot of really great technology, some of which we had never seen before. There was a good mix of traditional and unique puzzles, with some great wow factor moments along the way. Each section was well balanced between problems you could solve independently and those that required co-operation with the other "dream" team. The non-puzzle related decor was minimal, but sufficient. We appreciated that almost every object we encountered was related to a puzzle in some way. There was also an excellent sense of flow with everything thoughtfully laid out. Although Xscaper Arts Markham is a smaller facility, Inception uses the limited space brilliantly. Overall, Inception is a well designed room that presents guests with a good variety of puzzles and a lot of great technology. We have done split team escapes before, but this is one of our favourites.
