Mobster Assassination places you in the role of an assassin with a mysterious back-story. The intro video prior to starting was a little cheesy, but fun. This single-room escape was decorated well-enough to pass as a plain office room, however more background decor and higher quality items would go a long way to help immerse the players into the story. The puzzles were all the appropriate level of difficulty as none seemed too easy or difficult. None of them were abstract and they were all perfectly logical. It would have been nice to see more varied types of puzzles rather than straight up logic conundrums. Similarly, all the locks were the same type which could be improved by adding some alternative lock designs or different technology (ie. sound or light activated locks). The best puzzle was one that included a unique feature incorporating teamwork and physical manipulation from around the room. Unfortunately, we did not encounter many surprises or wow-factor moments during our escape, but we still had a fun time. Overall, Mobster Assassination is a good first escape game from Mystery Motel, with lots of potential for improvement with some better thematic design and puzzle creativity.
